Licia Annapurna Shultz

Chairman of the Board

Licia is a founding member of the Foundation and also a member in good standing with the Emerald Empire Sports Car Club (EESCC) for the last 8 years. Licia, with her husband and three her children, formed “Bad Hippie Racing”, a family-owned and operated racing team.

Licia currently serves as the Novice Coordinator for EESCC. In this role, she ensures novice drivers understand the “ins and outs” of autocross, including navigating the track map, and passing tech inspections. The most fun part of this “job” is enthusiastically supporting new drivers as they get out there for their first bonified racing experience.

Licia believes in supporting new drivers and helping them through their first outing as a race car driver so they develop a connection to the other drivers and the shared experience. She sometimes helps by pairing novices with other more experienced drivers to help them hone their driving skills or find more speed, or even find their way around the course. Mentoring or cheerleading, it’s a very fine line.

She is married, and with her husband raised 6 children, now delightful adults. She is a grandmother and now a great-grandmother. In total, she has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom have spent time at the races with family.

Professionally, she has worked for Full Circle Herb Co., a small business she co-founded in Marcola OR, for over 35 years.

Additional non-profit organizational experience includes a facilitator to a board appointed committee dealing primarily with elder issues as they relate to the Oregon Country Fair in Veneta OR, a position she held in honor for 18 years.

She has always supported her family members as racers. In the past, she always had hot coffee and sandwiches at the ready. When she turned 60, she decided it was time to start her racing career. "It’s never too late to live your dream, and now I race with the family team, Bad Hippie Racing!"
