Bren Wamsley was born and raised in Eugene, OR. She was a Sheldon High School graduate and attended LCC and the University of Oregon. She married her husband, Lorin, in 1968. She became a licensed cosmetologist but chose not to practice. During her husband’s stent in Vietnam she began working at the Eugene Hospital and Clinic which became Eugene Clinic and later PeaceHealth Medical Group. During her tenure at the medical group she became their first Data Processing Manager. Through the numerous technology changes over 31 years she ended her career as Director of Information Technology. She retired in 2000 and began working for her husband for 8 years processing home loans and providing her skills with marketing and database management. She retired in 2016 to care for her granddaughter.

Bren’s work was a huge part of her life. Her employer “Eugene Clinic” was the largest Multi-Specialty Medical Group in Oregon. At the height of her involvement she managed, installed, and supported 12 satellite locations. She was responsible for all IT functions; including Data Entry, Computer Operations, Help Desk, Desktop Support, Application Training and Application Development. Her love was application design. She served as President and Vice President for the First Inform User Group. She was always proactive, loyal, budget conscious, and customer service oriented. Integrity was her motto.

Bren became involved with EESCC while her husband and son were driving autocrosses together. She took on several roles within the club. Bren was Secretary for 15 years, Website Assistant for 19 years, and Banquet Chair for 20 years. She is a founder of EEMSP and is currently the Secretary.

Bren’s great loves are family, animals of all kinds, holiday decorations, crafts, glasswork, gardening and travel. Her two sons and their wives live nearby, and family get togethers are always something she looks forward to. She thoroughly enjoys being a grandparent to Elias, age 9 and Parker, age 6. It’s fun to go for walks to the nearby park with the littles and her husband of 50 plus years.
