Lorin Wamsley

Lorin Wamsley was born and raised in Eugene, OR. He served on the river boats in the “brown water” US Navy in Vietnam during 1969 – 1970. He then graduated from University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

He is currently retired from 16 years as a mortgage banker, after nearly 30 years in industrial sales and engineering; including starting two successful industrial sales businesses still operating today. He served as President and Vice President for the Eugene Springfield Professional Group.

Lorin and his wife Bren celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2018. They have two sons, their wives and two grandchildren that help fill up any spare time that comes along.

Lorin’s interest in motorsports started early on with frequent trips to Saturday night races at the Eugene Speedway as a spectator. Then after receiving his driver’s license in November of 1964, he prepared for the upcoming season as a rookie driver. After that, it was drag racing, road racing, autocrossing, and hillclimbs. Lorin is a founding member of the Foundation.

He joined EESCC in 1996 and served for 7 years as Vice President and Competition Director for the club. Since then, he has taken on the positions of Venue Coordinator and Sponsor Coordinator, as well as continuing to race autocross with his oldest son.
